Whenever I’m overwhelmed or near the edge of losing it, in a likely totally inappropriate way, SaraG has a couple of techniques that always reign me back in. One of those happens to be imaging yourself as a plucky kdrama heroine who, even after having everything thrown at her, still manages to continue on with humor, poise, and grace. After the events of this past week shattered my #klife heart, I had to dig deep to find that inner kdrama heroine who would continue on even when I really just wanted to throw myself on the floor and scream and yell about how things have turned out. My first idea for today’s khottie was the hero who would try hard to be a source of strength, but then I thought why can’t it be the heroine I think many of us would strive to be when the going gets tough.
Meet Park Min Young, age 33.
She started acting in 2005 and her big break was with Sungkyunkwan Scandal in 2010. If you haven’t seen it, go watch it.
She’s probably also very familiar from City Hunter…or Healer (which if you haven’t seen, go watch it).
And of course it’s hard to miss the two most recent, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and Her Private Life…if you need fluff to deal with #klife heartbreak I can strongly recommend both shows.
Her characters always bring poise, humor, and grace.
And as someone with curly hair that takes way too much energy to straighten, I’m always very envious of her beautiful hair.
Did I say beautiful and cute?
And not hesitant to be all of the above.
Maybe it’s the characters she picks but she always comes across as very relatable.
A best friend who’d do something ridiculous to make you feel better.
You can find her on Instagram @rachel_mypark.
Till next week!
