They say that it takes 24 hours per time zone you’ve traveled through to readjust to normal. That means if you were to go to, say, Seoul from Colorado, you would have to work through your sluggish, no sleep, exhausted state for approximately fifteen days. We have been back for seven. Seven days.
While I wish I was a fun, punch drunk kind of sleepyhead that had all sorts of witty commentary on life, I’m not. At least right now. Right now my head is swimming with all of the work I’ve been trying to catch up on, that big meeting I almost entirely forgot to plan, setting up my new phone, getting the kids sorted for spring break, and not snapping at people unnecessarily. Maybe it was a good thing I didn’t have a phone until Tuesday.
While I barely remember my own name at this point, I wanted to share an artist that I stumbled on while we were in Seoul, an artist with two names. There’s no big story behind finding him and it wasn’t like I had some totally insider avenue for discovering him…unless you count the fact that I was out at the clubs with Changmo and he introduced me to El Rune after his set…
Nah, I found him on YouTube when I was trying to unwind for bed and shared him with Stephanie…prompting a minor tumble down an El Rune shaped YouTube hole perched on the edge of my bed.
El Rune is a Korean rapper formerly known as Kyu Young (he has music out under both names as illustrated below). He adopted the new moniker about a year ago. I just know there’s all sorts of information out there about why he changed, but I can’t seem to find it. If I continue loving what he puts out, I’ll track it down and let you know. For now, go into the music with a clean slate and absorb it without the baggage of me having shouted all sorts of facts at you.
Sorry you all have to suffer through my bad attitude, but you get TWO songs out of it!
Woo Ya, Kyu Young
Slow Down, El Rune
