Too Many Dramas, Not Enough Time

Is it just me or are the fall season of dramas on fire? There are so many new dramas to watch, which is pretty much par for the course, but what’s weird is that there are so many dramas I really want to watch! The question is what to choose?

I’ve been setting and reaching to more drama goals as of late and, while it’s too early to say I’ve gotten my watching mojo back, I think it’s on its way! I’m trying to stick to a first in first out rule, only watching one drama until I’ve completed it and then moving onto the next. It used to be a much faster process when my entire life was dramas, where I’d spend entire weekends on my couch marathoning drama after drama.

Oh, those were the days.

But I have too much to do for that now. I have trouble sitting in one place for an hour or two let alone 16, 24, or 32! Looking back, I’m not entirely certain how I did it. ….Yes, I do, I lived in a small town in NH, where there was nothing else to do but watch dramas. Ahhh… when I look at my now hectic self-imposed schedule, I look back fondly upon those days. Kdrama and snack food. Couch and a comfy blanket. Yeah, that was the life.

Now though, I do have a busy schedule, where I’ve gotten to the point where I have to schedule myself time to watch or time to read. So in times like that, especially with my recent watching history, It’s best I stick with one drama, finish and move on. Unfortunately, this means one thing. I HAVE TO CHOOSE!

Of all the dramas that are going on right now, there are a couple that are right there on the top of the TBWList. A few vying for that top spot. First one is….not a drama. Whoops! As I’ve totally gotten back on the BTS train, there is part of me which LONGS to watch Bon Voyage Season 3.

But, this is variety, not drama, and I’m afraid that this may derail my drama watching train. That and it’s only showing on the VLive app, which means I’ll have to download the app, figure out how to use it, buy the episodes, figure out how to watch them, watch them, my brain squeaks a little bit when considering it — not a great sign. I think I may wait until it’s complete and…find it somewhere. It’s BTS. You know it’s only a matter of time before I can find it.

SOoooo…. since this is not a drama and is out of the running, possibly shouldn’t have been in in the running at all, I’m going to move onto the next option. Terius Behind Me. So Ji Sub? Spies? Cute kids? Half hour episodes? What more could a drama watcher on the go want? I’m going to go out on a limb and say Shirtless So Ji Sub, but it’s a Kdrama, it’s pretty much a given we’re going to see ab somewhere in this drama, right? A couple of my friends have already ventured into the first couple of episodes of the show and have nothing but good things to say so far, and I’m not going to lie, bite-sized morsels are not only easy to consume, once you start you just can’t stop! Perhaps this should be the new show?

With all that’s going on with the previous drama, why keep looking, right? It would be easy enough to end there if this season weren’t so rife with good dramas! Next up on the list? And I can’t believe I’m saying this? Lee Seungri. His Netflix mocumentary drama YG Future Strategy Office starts October 5th.

This one sounds like it’s light, airy, and full of cheese. Who doesn’t love cheese? Both of the edible and drama variety? Mmmm cheese. Focus, Stephanie! Something fun and lighthearted is always welcome into a busy and hectic day. I remember plowing through those Kim’s Convenience episodes like they were candy. Of course, that did make for some missed bedtimes, but sometimes a girls just gotta go into work with dark circles. It’s just part of the drama life. I’m interested just to see what this show is all about, how they plan to pull it off, figure out exactly what is going on in that premise. So maybe this is the drama?

All of these would be good choices. There really is no wrong answer here. I’d probably be pretty happy watching any one of them. Which one do I choose you ask? Hmmmmm…. none of them! Nope. I can’t tell you why, but for some reason, I am so excited to watch Where Stars Land.

Yep, I love me some Lee Jehoon, but I’m also intrigued by the idea of an airport drama. I watched one, a long, long time ago which took place in an airport (maybe it was called Incheon? Just checked, nope it was Air City) and since then I’ve been interested in dramas which take place in airports. (There’s also a Japanese airport drama which is better with Kimura Takuya called Good Luck if you’re also in the market for a good airport drama.) Plus? I love Lee JeHoon. Like love him-love him. I love his voice. I love his acting. I love his face. As much or more than I love So Ji Sub? Maybe. Probably.

I wish I had the time or the will to cram more in. But a schedule can only give so much, which makes us fangirls have to weigh our decisions carefully. It’s just a fact of life. What dramas are you currently cramming into your life holes?

I’ve watched Terius Behind Me and The Player. I like con artist shows/movies so the The Player is right up my alley.

One caveat, women are treated very, very badly by the bad guy in The Player so trigger warning for rape, beatings, and attempted murder. Male henchmen get beat down too, but they go in knowing there will be a fight, and they get to fight back. The women don’t.

I’m hoping that the victims in next week’s episode of The Player are not women and/or victims of rape and murder. There’s a limit to what I will put up with, even for Song Seung Hyun.
