An actual message I sent my Kpop bestie, Corinne, when I decided to cover Ravi for this week’s Khottie: “Halp! There is SO MUCH Ravi stuff. I don’t know where to start!” Then she blew up my Inbox with pictures, bless her. So this week is thanks in large part to her and her passion for Vixx’s rapper, Kim Wonshik.
Not to say that I don’t have a passion for Ravi-ah myself. Its hard not to love him.
He looks amazing, no matter how you style him.
What he’s wearing…
Or not wearing…
He’s that perfect balance between bad ass rapper with the deep voice, and soft sweet cinnamon roll.
While he is not a beagle, he is exceptionally silly, on purpose, and he never looks embarrassed about it.
More than just a rapper, Ravi has contributed to the writing and producing of a large number of Vixx’s songs and albums.
And he comes up with a lot of the concepts for their comebacks too. The Chained Up BDSM idea was all his.
And the most recent military one for The Closer. I die every time they come out in a new uniform. (Who here is keeping track of my fetishes?)
He knows what he’s doing.
Ravi is all the good things. In the wake of some unfortunate idol homophobia, its nice to have someone say this.
MC: If a male fan goes, “Oh, hyung, I like you!” doesn’t it feel a bit weird? Be honest, you like it more when female fans like you, right?
I love his distinctive voice and what he does with it. It makes his rapping, which can sometimes be boring and repetitive with other rappers, interesting to listen to. This one, released this past summer, has been in my heavy rotation.
That part where I said he looks good in any styling? I take that back with this video’s hair. Though he still manages to look cool, so…?
He also sings and its quite good! Here he is doing Busker Busker.
But just in case, he has a backup plan.
I don’t think it was his singing, but he felt the need to do this to us.
I’m keeping this gif forever. I’m serious.
I have SO MUCH more stuff – I didn’t even discuss what a fantastic dancer he is! – but it’s time to wrap the post up for this week. Stephanie suggested I do a Jin Part 2 (Who’s in?), so maybe we’ll do a Ravi as well. Look forward to it!
