It happened~ This weekend was the CL, Hello Bitches Tour! Which, as we can all expect, was freaking awesome. We sang, we danced, and we (me) took lots of pictures. Let’s discuss.

First off, we got there about an hour before the concert and walked, and walked, and walked following the line down the block, around the corner, up the block around the other corner and down the next block. For a concert which hadn’t actually soldout, the line was epic. So epic we saw a bar across the corner and decided to regroup and participate in a little pre-gaming. Trying to gauge the best time, we rejoined the line about 45 minutes later. While we waited to get in (this time at least a little closer to the door) some random guys walked by and wanted to know what we were waiting for. Gah, I love these moments. It went something like this:img_6996-cl-hello-bitches

Drunk Guy: Hey girl, what’s the line for?

Us: CL, a South Korean rapper.

Drunk Guy: A Rapper? They can rap in South Korea?

Us: Eyeroll.

By the time it was our time through the door, security was at a minimum, with barely a look through a bag. Which, turns out was for a very good reason, the concert had actually already started. Ugh. I hate it when they do that, starting the show before the line isn’t through the door. I just crossed my fingers that they hadn’t played Hello Bitches as 1) I would be disappointed and 2) My friend Kate would have murdered me. Deadimg_6936-cl-hello-bitches

The place was packed and we girls split up. I’m the person with the camera who takes pleasure in leapfrogging through the crowd to see how close I can get. Kate and Azy turns out like to hang in the back where they have more space and shortie Kate can see.

Surprisingly, CL sang a lot of 2NE1 songs. Although, I guess that should be more, unsurprisingly, as she only has a handful of current, English titles.

Also unsurprisingly, she looked awesome. She has mad eyeliner skills. During the night she did a few costume changes, swapping from a pleathery black unitard number with a coat,

to a barely there white satin number which ended in shorts

and finally, my favorite one was a military styled kimono-y corset style top. img_7018-cl-hello-bitches

The weird thing was though, to do these costume changes she’d leave the stage before the song was over. Like just skip off. I expected her to, like pop back up somewhere else on the stage to do a big finish, but nope, it would focus on the band doing a guitar solo, or a pre-recorded video and then she’d come out again, differently attired. I’d say, since it was her first night out, my constructive criticism to her would be to work on that transition a bit.

Turns out CL has a light stick, it’s red and kind of looks like a wand? Or a horn? Whatever it was, it was a little smaller than your usual light stick. img_7047-cl-hello-bitches

My favorite performance of the evening was Baddest Female. When she skipped out with the red background, and the background dancers waving the giant flags, it was pretty striking, probably the biggest to do of the night.

I’d also have to say, I was surprised with Lifted. I haven’t been a big fan fo the song, but it turns out? Only because I really didn’t like the video, the song itself is a lot of fun. Not to mention that because it’s so easy, it’s easy to sing along. img_6986-cl-hello-bitches

Once she came out in the last outfit and sang Baddest Female, she launched into newer song after newer song all in a row. It went Baddest Female, Doctor Pepper, Dirty Vibe (come on, I wasn’t the only one out there wishing GD would just pop out there? Right?) that popular one I don’t remember the name of, Lifted and then finally Hello Bitches. It was pretty exhilarating. img_7007-cl-hello-bitches

Turns out there was a reason for that, this was it, her last bit. Once Hello Bitches was over, that was it, she was done. There wasn’t even an encore. She walked off, lights went on, everyone left. There were a few sad calls for an encore, but pretty much everyone knew she was done. 5695-kcj

Of course, once the lights went on, the crowd realized Sandara was there and flipped their lids.

So, if you’d like, I took some bad fan videos of the concert including the songs listed above. And below that is a gallery of all the photos I took throughout.
