Junsu Gets The Shaft…Again

Posted by Stephanie on February 2, 2016

So, I was reading over at Soompi that the mayor of Seoul is very upset, very upset I tell you! What bee is in his bonnet? A week ago Junsu won the popularity award for the Seoul Music Awards. Woohoo! Right? Well, he did win, but did they let him get the awards on the air?

That would be a no.

The productions explaination is that they simply chose to promote the main awards, you know kind of like separating the Emmy’s and the Daytime Emmy’s. Except they don’t have an award show for those they choose to exclude. Uncool man, uncool.

Hani, Junsu’s alleged girlfriend was co-hosting the event and cried on air about it and Junsu himself put out a statement about being left out.

Where exactly does the mayor of Seoul come into the matter? Apparently, there were some fans who were so upset about the matter that they tweeted him asking for an apology. I’m sure he was all “Oh noes, I don’t want none of this fight!” Instead he said he’d look into it. Then he followed it up with this:

“The city of Seoul has informed the organizers of the Seoul Music Awards through an official notice that if such an incident occurs again, we will be withdrawing our titled sponsorship of the event. The organizers have said that it was simply a mistake, but this is unconvincing.”

They said it was a mistake? Were they able to keep a straight face while doing so? I want to say I feel bad that they are put in this hard place between JYJ and SM, but it’s been like 8 effing years. There is now an actual law against these sort of shenanigans. It would be nice that a person in actual authority was able to step in and bang some heads togehter. But if this law doesn’t does the mayor of Seoul?

What really makes me laugh is the “If it happens again…” Two of the members of JYJ are in the military, Junsu will realistacally be heading in there at any moment, how many more times will they have to block them out? Although, I do say all of the members are popular enough to be able to make  a full post military come back. Espeically since they were smart enough to make music to release while they are gone. Since they can’t promote anyway, it doesn’t really matter that they are not around to push it. They don’t need it.

None of them need to promote on tv to make money, least of all Junsu from what I’ve read. He can dry his tears with wads of cash while cuddling his girlfriend ( should I write alleged for Stephanie).

I think I read somewhere that the mayor of Seoul is doing a lot of promotion because he’s planning on running for president of South Korea. Basically, he’s agreeing to almost anything. Now, he’ll have the Junsu fans on his side. And Stephanie.

LAUGH! Well, that is even more interesting as it does make you wonder which ‘side’ he needs to take, SM is a powerful beast, yet a support for Junsu could bring in the youth vote. The epic power struggle continues!
