Kwang Soo Begins US Takeover

Attention Kwang Soo fans! To quote Baby McFeeley: So the Prince of Asia is now becoming the Prince of everywhere! (Okay, I’m pretty sure we can all agree that Ryan, the 8 year old super Running Man/Kwang Soo fan, is adorable.) 

This was a surprise, Kwang Soo recently appeared in a US Toyota commercial, check it out:

It reminds me of the series of Lee Min Ho Toyota commercials a few year ago. You know the ones, Min Ho on his wedding day vs his evil twin? I’d love if this became a series because, well any Kwang Soo is good Kwang Soo.

Although that being said, is this made for Running Man fans? Unless you have that background to go back on, the commercial is a little dumb. His friend challenged him? Umm….okay, why isn’t his friend doing it too? I think maybe if that line had been changed the premise of the commercial wouldn’t have been as cringe-y.

But it’s a US commercial with Kwang Soo, who am I to complain?

I wonder though if this will actually make it to air or if this will simply be an online deal like the Lee Min Ho ones? Then they are indeed just made for us Kwang Soo fans in the know. Especially since all they have to do is swap out the overlaying dialog to a different language and whamo! works in any country. But again, I guess I shouldn’t question it. Let’s just enjoy, and hope it’s part of a series.

    Seems like it might be targeting Korean-American car buyers, so I wonder if it will just air on Korean-language stations in LA and NY.

    I’m with LizC, I don’t think we will see his ads on major mainstream network in the US. I will be surprised if they do. But it is good to see him though. I actually cheered for him too XD
