This Musical Monday is for today’s guest poster, Jess—and for me—as we both love Roy Kim! Lucky for us, after a long haitus, he finally came out with new music in December. New music in December and here it is January and I’m just listening to it? Bad Roy Kim fan, bad! Checking out a few of his new songs, it makes me wonder just what happened to him at Georgetown? Did someone break is poor little heart? Break it into a million little pieces? As each song could just be called, Sad, Sadder and Saddest.
His music really has been all over the charts in within his career. I remember that amazing performance at the MAMA’s a couple of years ago, then his first CD was a cutie little Jack Johnson-esq sort of sound. Here? He definately seems to be going for a moody OST sort of feel. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear any of these songs presiding over a sad, sad, forced separation, sober contemplation Kdrama scene.
This song is my favorite of the bunch as it’s moody without being dreary, it has as nice head swaying beat, and I think it really shows off his music heart-on for Damien Rice. (Something we both have in common.)
Despite his mood, I would love to see Roy Kim perform in person again (after seeing him perform at KCon) —even if it takes that trip to Georgetown with Jess…
