Christmas is almost here, which means one thing, it’s time to hold up ask Santa for your biggest wishes.

Here’s mine:

Dear Santa, It’s been a rough year. I think I’m due some goodness coming my way. Please give me a new drama that is just as addictive as Love Sick—heck, I’m not greedy—I’ll be happy with one just 2/3rds as squeeworthy. Please let that Jung Il Woo drama actually happen. And also, if it’s not too much trouble. I’d like Junsu. Under my tree. Sincerely, Stephanie

So, now’s your last chance—what do you want Santa to bring you for Christmas?

    Jacqueline’s Christmas Wishlist:

    1. A heroine who rescues the dude-in-distress.

    2. A kiss scene that’ll be like Hallmark and porn having a baby together.

    3. Oprah giving out Happily-Ever-Afters like they’re free cars to EVERY Second Male Lead in Dramaland.

    4. Side drama bitches get free therapy for life.

    5. Junsu and T.O.P get married and have 12 kids together in 2016.

Jacqueline – love love love your list! A big YES to #2, #3 is a must, and #5 would so be icing on an already delicious cake! 🙂

    Dear Santa,

I’d so enjoy a drama with decent people who don’t need to do vicious things to others in order to feel happy. I’d love a heroine who doesn’t lose all sense of ambition and the ability to make her own decisions the minute she hooks up with a guy. And giving the moms a story line of their own that doesn’t center around obsessing over their kids’ love lives would be a real bonus. P.S: Maybe we’ve had enough serial killers for a while?

    Sincerely, Brenda

Hmm, I had go over my MDL scores with a fine tooth comb to make the perfect list:

    1) A Korean drama with the energy and zest for life of a Taiwanese drama but with the actual sexy umph of a Thai lakorn. The Korean part will be the existential musings about why we love and a kick ass soundtrack. Preferably with Epik High.

    2) Maybe I’m echoing Brenda here but I want semi-realistic family members. Moms who care for their kids but who aren’t being downtrodden by society or driven to madness because they aren’t perfect. Good example: Mom Kaew (TenTen’s mom) from Kiss Me – Thai or a grandmother like Kim Young Ok who’s played many of the best, caring grandmother roles in Korean dramas. Dads who aren’t so caught up in work that they lose their humanity. Kids who don’t look perfect. Teens being played by teens.

    3) My third request for Santa (okay, maybe fourth after that five pound bag of money) would be editing. Give me a well rounded set of 16-18 episodes and then, hey, if the show works out – come back for another season. If Let’s Eat or Vampire Prosecutor can do, why not the rest of drama land? Don’t try to cram it all in. Moderation in all things – except for the fourth and last thing on my list.

    4) Sexy AJUSSIS! I am a woman of years and while I love Noh and Phun – my own son has just gotten braces and I just can’t fangirl over skinny teen boys anymore. It’s just icky. Give me a lead with a few years and a few pounds on them (I’m looking at you, Christopher Lee, Louis Koo, Weir or Ken or even Mama Shin) and I’ll be a much more happy lady. Throw in some tattoos (that would be Sunny Wang or Song Jae Rim) and I’ll be set for 2016. Merry Christmas to the Misses Kchat and a happy, stable, prosperous New Year!

    1) For this whole Jade Lover, Jong Suk, insane sounding Cdrama to be a bad dream.

    2) More Jisoo.

    3) For Song Joong Ki’s character in Descendants not to be an abusive jerk and for all the romantic interactions to be consensual and look it.

    4) For Joong Ki to return for a multi-episode Running Man.

    5) For Yoon Si Yoon to jump right back into a drama this summer.

    6) For Woo Bin and Suzy’s drama to be very good.

    7) For Park Bom and 2ne1 to make a full return.

Well, looking at these other (amazing) comments (kudos, ladies – I echo your sentiments!), my requests will be slightly less thoughtful/possibly a bit more shallow.

Santa, I don’t ask for much, so please grant these wishes:

    – In 2016, I want to see more OTPs with the kind of chemistry TenTen and Taliw (Kiss Me) have, and I definitely want to see more of Mike D’Angelo, preferably in something else with Aom – they just make me smile every time they’re on screen together.

    – I’m hoping Song Joong Ki’s character in Descendants of the Sun is written well and he has a chance to shine. I’m so excited to see him in dramas again!

    – Yoon Si Yoon is back in 2016!!! SO hoping he gets a delicious role that suits his talents and we get to see him on the small screen SOON after he returns. (Right away would be good. Just sayin….)

    – I want excellent writers to come out of the wood work and create some LOVELY, memorable dramas, partner with talented directors and producers – then perfectly cast the roles with exceptional actors so we can have more delicious dramas like Misaeng, It’s Okay That’s Love, Kill Me Heal Me and Healer. I’m looking forward to getting lost in some amazing stories and falling in love with intriguing characters and vicariously living through dreamy romances. Yep – that’s pretty much what Kdramas are all about for me. 🙂 So more of that, please.

    – Oh, and if I may venture into Kpop land for a moment, – I’d REALLY like to be able to go to the upcoming EXO concert. Even though some EXO-Ls freak me out with their fanaticism and my budget is rather tight at the moment, I do love those songs and would be thrilled to see them performed live. So, Santa, will you please bring me some more dough? Cause I really need to go! 🙂

I’ve got more wishes, but I’ll leave it at that. Truly, I’m just grateful Kdramas and Kpop exist because they are my happy place. I’m excited to see what goodies 2016 brings us! 🙂
