The Gods Of Kdrama Have Finally Smiled Down Upon Us

Back in the day, the day of Crazy For Kdrama (remember those days? Those were good days right?) we used to have a periodic post called Pleas to the Gods Of Kdrama, and within it, we asked if the Gods of Kdrama could grant us certain Kdrama-related wishes.

Usually we wished for dramas or movies to be subbed, for Viki to get a Roku channel, actors to sign on to certain dramas, or for our favorite biases to come back from the military even hotter than when they went in.

Sometimes the Gods of Kdrama were benevolent and would listen to our wishes and those were great days of celebration indeed. But mostly? The Gods of Kdrama looked upon our pervy noona souls and judged us as unworthy of their favors.

I blame you. Yes, I know what you did. Thanks for ruining for all of us…

There was one drama which showed up on our list a few times. The drama, I Live In Cheongdam-dong, is a daily drama that Cherry had found only parts of and really liked, so as a good friend who wants to score good friend points, I added it to the list. The response was pretty epic. (Sidenote, am I the only one who always wants to spell epic with a K now?) Everyone had heard of it and wanted to watch! So as ever the follower, it became a drama that I wanted to watch too.

I live in Cheongdam-dong

But the Gods of Kdrama were unkind and blithely ignored our pleas. Until now… That’s right! Viki just picked up the rights to have it on their site! The subbers are already busily doing their subbing magic as we speak! This is a good day.

Funny, looking at my TBWList on Mydramalist to find out the spelling of  Cheongdam-dong (you know, because there was no way in hellz that I was going to be able to do that on my own) I realized that my doubt that we’d get to see this drama subbed was so big (because at this point it’s a few years old) that I’d actually removed it from the list.

Way to have no faith, Stephanie.

So now, we’ll start taking requests for the next round of Pleas to the Gods Of Kdrama and we hope that they will continue to, in their time, to shine down upon us.

Oooh! And I’m even more excited because I see that the girl who played Bongi in Smile Dong Hae is in this! Later guys, I’ve got some drama to watch…

It also has the grandma from Unkind Women. I hope she gets to play a nicer character this time, cause that character was awful.

Yay!!! This makes me soooo happy! For years I have seen so many raves about how great this show is, and I have wanted to watch it, searching every few months for it subbed somewhere, even going so far as to try to watch it with Chinese subs and attempting to Google translate them to understand even a little of what was going on. I had recently given up on it ever being subbed, as it’s been 4 years since it’s run, figuring the only way I’d ever get to watch it was to become fluent in Korean and translated it myself! I can’t wait!
