Top 5 OTP Pairings You Want to Reunite

Top Five

love-560783_1280

We all have them, those couples who reached in and yanked a hold of our hearts as we sat there and witnessed their trials and angst and (if we’re lucky) their eventual happily ever after. These character are brought to life not only by the words on the paper, but by the actors who play them. As much as I love the written word, without the actors’ chemistry, their skill, all the gooey squee-worthy moments just wouldn’t land.

And while we know we could never recreate that one drama we loved, there are always actors that, in our fangirling wet-dreams, we hope and pray would match up again. Here is the list of my top five pairings who I would love (or literally hurt someone) to see again.

Uhm Tae Woong & Eugene

Can We Love

can we love

Some may think that this is an odd addition to the list, the smaller drama from last year that made me so angry I wanted to slap someone, but this couple was totally worth the watch itself. Eugene and Uhm Tae Woong were really well matched, a similar good guy quality, and some really good chemistry. They really get put on this list because I feel like they deserve a second chance at making us fall in love with them.

Gong Yoo & Yoon Eun Hye

Coffee Prince

Do I really need to talk about this one at all?? Gong Yoo? Yoon Eun Hye? I’m feeling pretty confident that this is best pairing that either of them have had. Even thinking back on these two and their relationship and chemistry makes me fall in love with this drama all over again. Perhaps them pairing up again will 1) bring Yoon Eun Hye back up to the top and 2) bring Gong Yoo back to dramas.

Lee Sun Gyun & Gong Hyo Jin

Pasta

My favorite drama, my favorite actors, a favorite couple? Of course Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Sun Gyun had to be on the list. Now to be completely honest, Gong Hyo Jin could have made the list several times, her and So Ji Sub (Master’s Sun), her and Jo In Sung (It’s Okay That’s Love), her and Jang Hyuk (Thank You) so, maybe she is the magical element to this pairing, but Lee Sun Gyun has the voice and, you know, great acting skills so he’s no schlub himself.

Cha Seung Won & Kim Sun Ah

City Hallcity hall

Did you guys see this? If not, well, I’m not sure if you should, it’s a pretty uneven drama. Although for the sparks that literally fly off these two, maybe you should make an exception and give it a try. These two are really strong actors, so they match up exceptionally well. And then, there are those kisses!

Kim Soo Hyun & Jeon Ji Hyun

You Who Came From the Starsyou who came from the stars

This is the one pair on the list who have actually been matched up before, this time in the mega movie Thieves. They were electric there, they were electric in this drama. Two amazing pairings is officially not a fluke.

Honorable Mentions: All those Gong Hyo Jin matchings, the couple from In A Good Way and Lie To Me, as they were great couples in not great dramas and they deserve a second chance.

So what would be your dream OTP repairing?

I want to reunite Seo In Guk and Jung Eun Ji again. Adored them in Reply 1997, but I’d like them to do a drama together where they are adults this time. After they have been matched up with other actors/actressses, I’m convinced that they were best together.

And if I could, I’d also want a redo for Choi Jin Hyuk and Song Ji Hyo. Emergency Couple didn’t turn out to be all that great, but I love the pairing.

I would totally support that pairing!

I wouldn’t mind 3 out of the 5 pairings reunited. The other two, I just didn’t like the dramas that much, so not to excited to see them again.

Definitely Lego Li and Kristen from In A Good Way

I second the vote for Gong Yoo & Yoon Eun Hye to do another drama together. Please, please, drama overlords make this happen! Ji Chang-wook and Park Min Young were adorable together so I wouldn’t mind seeing them again. Another pairing I thought really worked was Yoon Shi Yoon and Park Hye Shin. Puff Kou and Aaron Yan. I.U. and Jang Geun Suk in a better drama. OK, I’ll stop now.

Does Uhm Tae Woong ever do anything but look fiercely and get really, really close to some serious smooching? I’m watching Sword and the Flower right now and what would have made this my favorite saguek ever is if he had just pulled that princess into an alley and actually, you know, kissed her. I don’t really remember very much skin ship in Valid Love, either. Seems a waste of manliness.

Can We Love really surprise because of Eugene and Tae Woong pairing. They are amazing together. Would definitely love to see them together again.

I thought highly of the OTPs in:
    1. Coffee Prince (obviously, as you said).
    2. It’s OK, That’s Love
    3. Scent of a Woman
    4. Me Too, Flower
    5. Healer
    6. A Moment to Remember
    7. Lie to Me
    8. Fated to Love You (Korean)
    9. Shan Shan
    10. Bride of the Century
    11. Heart to Heart
    12. The teen actors in Moon Embraces the Sun
    13. They weren’t the OTP, but I’d love to see IU and her B lead co-star in Pretty Boy act together again. They were very sweet together.

Lots of good ones here! Love It’s Okay That’s Love (so much it makes me disbelieve her new pairing), Me Too Flower, and A Moment to Remember (YES PLEASE! Can’t believe I forgot this one.)
