I can’t believe how quickly Christmas came this year! I actually reached the point where I began to panic that I wasn’t going to be able to get all the dramas I’d hoped to by the end of the clock. What was I thinking saving some of the biggest hitters of the year until the very end? This is the first time watching Kdrama has actually stressed me out–well, besides that time I tried to watch Nice Guy…
Now all that’s left is Christmas Eve and Day and this weekend. Now the cramming will really begin.
I wonder what it’s going to feel like at the end of the month, when I’m no longer gulping them down? On the one hand I feel like I’m going to have so much more time on my hands. On the other? I’m hoping I’ve gotten into the habit of trying to fit more Kdrama into my life. Sometimes I need to remind myself that this is what I’m here for. My goal I guess will be for a balance between the two–real life and my drama watching one.
Of course a month of doing the bare minimum of posts means I’ve got lots of fun things that have rolling around in my head that I’m super excited to get down on paper.
Now let’s get to my drama update:
Bad Guys. From the very first moments of this drama, I was sucked in–by about the halfway point of the first episode I was ready to make out with whole thing. Did the high stick around? While I loved the bad-ass bad guys and their case of the week, once they moved past that to the over-arching story, I thought it lost a little steam. Or at least I lost a little interest. Luckily, the last 2 episodes picked back up nicely and makes me hope, hope, hope they would do a second season.
Full House Thai. This one is a cheat–but I realized it was from this year and I had already finished half of it, so on the list it went! These two characters had some crazy pants chemistry and were just adorable together. Unfortunately, the guy and his obsession with the manipulative b-lead drove me crazy! In the end, I just want to watch an entire show of them being adorable together.
I Need Romance 3. You know what I liked best about this drama? I loved the fact that the heroine not only was a leader in her high profile job, willing to work hard to get ahead but was also crazy good at it! Really–how many heroines can we say this about? I did not care for the b-lead and their relationship–he never really cared for her at all and I really think he was just using her. I do like the idea of Sweet Potato trying to make her nervous of him. He’s right, they needed to get past that comfortable part of the relationship–seeing him as a man rather than the snotty kid she grew up with.
You Who Came From The Stars–I did it! I finally finished the “It” drama of last year–and you know what? I didn’t hate it as much as I’d feared. Great acting, super funny, amazing chemistry. The ending leaves me a bit hollow though–I keep thinking about the actuality of their lives and am not sure I see it working out.
Discovery of Romance. I finished this drama and it was a roller coaster. First I liked it, then I LOVED it, then, by the end, the weepyness irritated me. It’s one of the few dramas where I can literally say I had no idea which guy she was going to end up with at the end–even at the last episode. I do like what they were trying to say about love, how to get it and more importantly, if it’s possible to keep it. The story leaves that a bit open, and I’m okay with that as it’s realistic. Also? Cutest second couple ever! I rewound their parts over and over again.
Here’s what the scoreboard looks like:
You’ll notice a few more have been deleted from the list as I’ve realized they will not finish by the end of the year.
The dramas I’m going to try–very hard to get in? It’s Okay, It’s Love, Secret Love Affair, and Misaeng. If I have any more time left over it will be High School King or Fated To Love You.
How go your lists?
