Let me just say, I have been listening the crap out of this song. I’ve had it on my phone for a long time, but it wasn’t until it found itself on my playlist “Songs to Strut To” that I realized just how much I love it–and now I listen to it over and over (and over and over) again.
I’ve never really listened to any of Yoon Mi Rae’s solo stuff before–and I’m not really sure why. Maybe I just haven’t gotten around to it? And it wasn’t until I went looking for a video for this one that I even realized it was a solo song of hers as the version I have is included in a Drunken Tiger album. However, since that CD included Drunken Tiger and MFBTY songs, I guess it’s no surprise that back list Yoon Mi Rae got on there. (Umm…Tiger JK, Bizzy, Yoon Mi Rae, is this how you fill CD’s? Load it up with a backlog of older songs and hope we don’t notice? Well, in this case it worked. Continue on.)
Looking for a video, not only did I learn it had been released before, I found there is a Korean version, an English version, and this newer one. Since this is the one I’ve been listening to while strutting through the streets of New York, I’m partial to this one and am glad they retrofitted it with the music video.
Now that music video… Hmm…. I’m not sure what it has to do with the song itself except the song seems to be about girl power and the video is Yoon Mi Rae chopping up a bunch of men with a giant sword. Um. Okay. It was nice to see the Tiger JK cameo at the end, even with the super fake fighting.
This song makes me want to move and fills me with a sense of badassery helping me achieve the proper cocky strutting that just makes me feel awesome. Try it, I’m sure it will work for you too.
